OUR STORY

In the Fall of 2008, Jon Elswick began to feel God was calling him and his wife to plant a new church near the Plantation/Davie, Florida area.  Church planting had always been on Jon's heart and after many conversations with trusted advisors and much prayer, he and Melissa began to believe that God was leading them to plant Crossway Church in January 2010. 

Jon shared his vision for this new church with Robey Barnes, his pastor, and along with the leadership of West Pines Community Church, Robey committed to partnering with Crossway Church by sending a group of people to  start the church and also providing many other necessary resources.  Additionally, Jon joined The Church Planting Network, located in Boca Raton, which provides resources, mentorship and accountability to Crossway Church. 

Throughout the Fall of 2009, a Launch Team was gathered and Jimmy Purchase was added as the Worship Pastor of Crossway Church.  On January 10, 2010, Crossway Church will begin weekly Sunday morning services at Fox Trail Elementary School.  We are excited to see how God is going to use Crossway to change lives in South Florida!
